Frequently asked questions

How finding a doctor, booking, prices and your data work on BigMed.

Booking a visit

Do I need to register to book?

No. Your name, phone number, email and the language of the appointment are enough. If you like, you can create an account after booking: it keeps the history of your visits and the doctors you have seen.

How does booking work?

Two steps. First you choose the clinic, the date and the time, then you leave your contacts. If a suitable time is already visible in the catalogue, tap it and only your details are left to fill in.

Is a booking confirmed straight away?

It depends on the doctor: some accept bookings immediately, others confirm them first. Either way you receive an email about what is happening with your booking.

I chose a time and it turned out to be taken. Why?

Someone booked it first. It happens rarely, and in that case the service brings you back to the schedule so that you pick another time yourself instead of being given someone else’s.

How do I cancel or move my booking?

Call the clinic, its phone number is in the booking email. It is better to warn them in advance: the freed time goes to another patient.

If you cannot get through, write to us through the contact form.

My appointment was moved. How will I know?

The clinic has to agree the new time with you before moving the appointment. After that you receive an email with the new date and time.

Will you remind me about the appointment?

Yes, we send a reminder the day before your appointment.

What happens if I do not come?

The clinic marks that the visit did not take place and offers to move it. We keep no blacklists: a missed visit does not close bookings with this doctor or with any other.

Can I book for a relative rather than myself?

Yes. Put the details of the person who will come to the appointment in the form, and a phone number we can reach you on.

Where can I see my bookings?

In your account, if you created one: it holds all your bookings and the doctors you have seen. Without an account you still have the email for each booking.

I left a request and nobody called. What should I do?

Write to us through the contact form. Give the phone number or email you used when booking, and the clinic and doctor you were booking with, and we will sort it out.

Prices and insurance

How much does using the site cost?

For patients the service is free: finding a doctor, booking, reminders and the account cost nothing. You pay for the appointment itself at the clinic, at its own price, with no mark-up for booking through BigMed.

Is the price on the site final?

It is the price of the appointment set by the clinic, and you see it before booking. Many doctors have several appointment types with different prices: adult, child, follow-up, online, home visit.

Tests, procedures and materials are not included in that sum.

Why is the price discounted?

A clinic can set a discount or run a promotion. The terms and the end date are shown next to the price, and your booking keeps the sum you were shown when you booked.

Do you work with insurers?

We keep a catalogue of Georgian insurance products with coverage descriptions and plan comparison, so that it is easier to see what you are entitled to. Settlements with the insurer go through the clinic; we take no part in them.

Will you give me a certificate or a medical report?

Medical documents are issued by the clinic. We keep the information about the booking; the service has no access to your medical record.

Where can I see promotions and discounts?

Current offers from clinics and doctors are collected on the promotions page. The terms and the end date of each one are shown there too.

Your data

Who sees my data?

Your data is available to the doctor you booked with and to the clinic where they see patients. Other clinics and doctors on the platform cannot see it.

How do you store my data?

We keep only what your booking needs, and we keep it encrypted.

Do you pass my data to third parties?

No. The data exists so that you get to your appointment, and beyond us and the clinic it goes nowhere.

Can my data be deleted?

Yes. Write to us through the contact form and we will delete your data within a month.

How do you use my data?

We and the clinic need your phone number and email to reach you about the booking and to remind you about the appointment. There will be no marketing mailings without your consent.

Services and contact

What is the AI consultation and does it replace a doctor?

No, it does not replace one and it makes no diagnoses. The AI consultation helps you put a complaint into words, suggests which specialist to see, and warns separately if what you describe looks like a condition that needs urgent care rather than an appointment.

The consultation needs an account, so that the conversation stays available only to you.

Do you have Telegram?

Yes, we have a Telegram app: search for doctors, clinics and promotions, and booking right inside the messenger.

Is there a mobile app?

There is no separate app. The site works on a phone, and if a messenger suits you better, there is the Telegram app.

Which language will you use with me?

The one you chose when booking. Emails and reminders come in it too.

Why would a patient want an account on BigMed?

With an account you see the history of your visits and the doctors you have seen, and your booking details fill in themselves. It is also needed for the AI consultation. Registration takes a minute, and you can book without it.

How do I get in touch with you?

Write to us through the contact form or in the Telegram bot. The footer of the site also has our phone number and our social media pages: pick whichever suits you.

Doctors on BigMed

Who runs a doctor’s profile: you or the doctor?

The doctor. They fill in the biography, specialities, places of work, prices and schedule in their own cabinet. We help with wording and translations, but the profile belongs to the doctor.

Does the doctor really see my booking, or is it just a form?

They see it. The booking arrives in the doctor’s cabinet and as a notification on the channel they prefer. There they confirm the appointment, move it when you agree to a new time, and mark that the visit took place.

What if the doctor does not answer my request?

We watch for such cases and deal with them ourselves. If nobody has got in touch, write to us through the contact form: we will reach the doctor or find you another specialist.

How does the doctor know the time in the schedule is free?

A doctor has one schedule, wherever you book: on the site, in Telegram or through the clinic’s own site. A taken slot disappears for everyone at once, so booking two patients into the same hour is impossible.

Can the doctor book me if I called them directly?

Yes, there is quick booking in the cabinet. Your appointment lands in the system exactly as if you had booked on the site, with the email and the reminder.

Does the doctor see my past visits to other doctors?

No. A doctor and a clinic see only what happened with them.

Can a doctor delete a bad review?

No. We check the reviews, and we only take down those that are unrelated to the visit, contain abuse or were clearly not written by a patient. A doctor can reply to a review publicly.

What does a doctor see about their own profile?

How many people opened their page, how many booked, and what the profile is still missing. That is why doctors’ cards become fuller and more useful to patients over time.

Why would a doctor want a paid plan?

A doctor has a free plan and a paid one. The paid plan opens direct contacts in the profile, an extended page, notifications on the channel they prefer and replies to reviews. Online booking works on both plans.

What each plan includes is on the pricing page.

The doctor’s profile was created by the clinic. Is that normal?

Yes, it happens: a clinic sets up cards for its doctors. Such a profile is marked as managed by the clinic, and the doctor can take it over at any moment and run it themselves.

How does a doctor register?

Fill in the registration form, accept the terms and complete the profile: specialities, places of work, prices and schedule. We check the doctor’s details against the state registry, after which the profile appears in the catalogue.

How much does a doctor pay per patient?

Nothing. There is no commission per booking and no fee per enquiry; there is only the plan for the profile.

Clinics on BigMed

How is a clinic’s page different from a directory listing?

Behind it is the clinic’s working desk: requests, schedule, branches, staff. The clinic sees your booking at once and works with it there, instead of copying it from an email into a notebook.

The clinic has several branches. Will I get to the right one?

Yes. The address, the schedule and the price belong to the exact branch you chose when booking. The same branch is named in the email, together with a link to the map.

Who inside the clinic sees my data?

The staff of the clinic you booked with. If there are several branches, access can be limited to the right one. Inside the clinic it is visible who worked with your booking, so responsibility is not lost.

Does the clinic keep notes about me?

Yes, as any clinic does: the administrator can write down what was agreed and what you prefer for your visits. These notes are available only to that clinic and are not passed to other clinics on the platform.

Do you give clinics blacklists of patients?

No. A clinic sees only its own history with you, and it exists so that someone calls in time to confirm the visit. The service neither suggests nor allows refusing an appointment on the strength of such data.

The clinic’s own site has a BigMed booking button. Is it the same schedule?

The very same. Whether you book on the clinic’s site or on BigMed, the time is taken in one place, and overlaps do not happen.

What does a clinic get from BigMed?

Patients who look for a doctor in different languages, online booking with a schedule, work with branches, a patient card with the history of visits, and statistics on bookings.

Can a clinic change or hide bad reviews about its doctors?

No. We check the reviews; a clinic can only reply publicly.

How does a clinic join?

Register on the site, fill in the profile and the branches, and from there we help with doctors, schedules and prices. Basic listing is free; paid plans add contacts, booking by schedule, the cabinet and work with the patient base.

The plans are compared on the pricing page.

About the platform

Which languages does the site work in?

Georgian, Russian and English are available at the moment.

Do you work across the whole of Georgia?

Yes, we work across the whole country. If you are a doctor or represent a clinic and would like to be listed with us, you are welcome: registration is open.

What if my doctor is not in the catalogue?

Write to us through the contact form and we will invite them to create a profile. A doctor can also register on their own, it takes a few minutes.

I found a mistake in a doctor’s or clinic’s profile. Where do I report it?

Write to us through the contact form and we will check and correct it. The profile is filled in by the doctor or the clinic, but keeping an eye on it is our job.

Write to us and we will sort it out.
