I am a gastroenterologist and nutritionist, working with adult patients and helping to manage both acute and chronic problems related to digestion and nutrition.
In my practice, I rely on the principles of evidence-based medicine, international clinical guidelines, and an individual, careful approach to each person. It is important for me not just to relieve symptoms, but to find and address the cause of the disease, taking into account lifestyle, nutrition, and comorbid conditions.
My education and professional background:
- 2012 – graduated from the I.I. Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University with a degree in General Medicine;
- 2013 – completed an internship in internal medicine at the I.P. Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University;
- 2015 – obtained a specialization in gastroenterology;
- 2021 – completed professional retraining in dietetics at St Petersburg State University.
Since 2022, I have held official medical licenses in Georgia in internal medicine and gastroenterology, which allows me to manage patients legally and safely in accordance with local and international standards.
I see patients in person in Tbilisi, and I also periodically consult patients in Batumi. For the convenience of many patients, online consultations are available on issues related to gastroenterology and nutrition.
What I work with
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis)
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
- Functional gastrointestinal disorders
- Eating disorders and disordered eating behaviors
How I work
My appointments are not about “quickly prescribing pills”, but about careful, considerate attention to each patient.
During the consultation I:
- carefully take the medical history and take comorbidities into account;
- explain in detail what is happening in the body and why the symptoms occur;
- give clear, step-by-step and realistic recommendations on treatment and lifestyle.
I often use visual diagrams, simplify complex medical processes, and help the person understand their condition rather than simply “follow instructions”.
My approach to nutrition
I do not support strict bans, fear of food, or extreme diets.
In my nutrition work I rely on:
- balance in the diet (including the Harvard plate principle);
- regular meals;
- consideration of lifestyle, stress level, and psycho-emotional state.
It is important for me to convey that food is not the enemy, and health is not built solely on restrictions and prohibitions.
What is important to me in working with patients
I work a lot with anxious patients, as well as with people who have a pronounced fixation on their health and fear of serious illnesses (hypochondria).
For me it is fundamentally important not only to treat, but also to reduce the level of anxiety, to explain each step in detail, and to support the person throughout the entire journey.
In my practice I:
- do not shame anyone for symptoms, weight, lifestyle, or “mistakes” in eating;
- do not invalidate the patient’s complaints and experiences;
- do not prescribe tests and medications “just in case”, but create a well-grounded, transparent plan for examination and treatment.
